Lochside House, Scottish Highlands
The remote lochside location of the plot made delivering this ambitious build a challenge.
Work was also hampered at times by the unpredictable Scottish West Coast weather, meaning
that the length of time to reach wind and watertight stages was equally as important as the energy
efficiency of the final building when choosing a construction technique.
From the local stone, which was carefully colour matched to the external cladding, to the
final fixtures and fittings throughout the build, there was a strong focus on achieving the
highest quality finish, which demanded close attention to detail at every stage.
The team from JML SIPs was responsible for designing, engineering and fabricating the
SIPs kit, which they then erected on site. JML also supplied and fitted the Internorm
windows and external doors in order to ensure the site was wind and watertight, ready
for the internal fit-out and follow-on works
