IMS Heat Pumps is proud to have been named Renewable Heat Installer & Contractor of the Year at the 2025 Scotland Regional Energy Efficiency Awards. The award recognises our technical expertise, commitment to quality, and role in delivering impactful, low-carbon heating projects across Scotland.
We were also pleased to receive a ‘Commended’ award in the Large-Scale Project of the Year category for our ongoing work at Logiealmond Estate in Perthshire — a recognition of both the complexity and long-term sustainability of that project.
Delivering High-Performance Systems Across Scotland
With more than two decades of experience, we are focused on designing and delivering tailored heat pump solutions for real homes in real conditions. In the past year alone, we completed over 200 renewable heating installations, with an estimated annual energy saving of over 3.2 GWh.
More than 90% of these installations were delivered under government-backed schemes such as BUS and HES, supporting the decarbonisation of homes across the country. Every project was handled by our fully qualified team and designed with long-term performance in mind.
A Strong Presence in Scotland
IMS was founded in Perth in 1997 and continues to operate a key regional office there, providing local knowledge and support to homeowners, developers, and estate managers. While we now operate nationally, our Scottish roots remain central to how we work.
Our Managing Director, Emma Bohan, plays an active role in national policy development through her position as Vice Chair of the Ground Source Heat Pump Association. Under her leadership, IMS continues to shape industry standards and contribute to wider sector growth.
Recognised for Large-Scale Innovation
Our commendation in the Large-Scale Project of the Year category highlights our role at Logiealmond Estate, a multi-phase ground source heat pump installation across more than 16 heritage and newbuild properties.
The estate’s ambition — to operate off-grid and carbon-neutral — has required a carefully coordinated, technically advanced approach. Our systems have been integrated across listed buildings, off-grid cottages, and remote lodges, each with its own design requirements.
“IMS Heat Pumps has been an outstanding partner in helping us realise our vision. Their solutions have integrated renewable technology into some very challenging and historic properties.”
– Rod Flavell, Owner, Logiealmond Estate
Our work has contributed to significant emissions reductions while maintaining the estate’s architectural integrity and high standards of comfort. It is an ongoing demonstration of how heat pumps can support both environmental and economic sustainability at scale.
Developing Skills and Future Talent
We currently support six apprentices and three trainees across the business, including several based in our Perth office. One of our apprentices was a 2025 finalist in the National Heating Installer Awards — a reflection of our commitment to hands-on training and meaningful career development within the sector.
IMS is also a founding partner of Heat Pump Week, and we continue to contribute to education and outreach through public talks, industry panels, and community initiatives across Scotland.
Looking Ahead
This recognition reflects the dedication and expertise of the entire IMS Heat Pumps team. We’re proud to be delivering high-quality renewable heating solutions, and we remain focused on supporting the transition to net zero — project by project, home by home.
