With over 20 years’ professional experience, James works with private clients, architects, developers and contractors across the UK, creating distinctive landscapes that respond carefully to their setting, architecture and the people who use them.
Combining creative design with a strong understanding of plants, ecology and construction, Outside Spaces provides a comprehensive service from initial concept and planning through to detailed masterplans, planting design, 3D visualisation, technical specification and support during construction.
James believes the best landscapes come from listening carefully to the client and finding the right balance between geometry, materials, planting and the natural world. Every project is individually designed, whether transforming a compact urban garden, integrating the landscape around a new-build home or developing a larger rural landscape.
