Alastair Raitt

Alastair has been working in the family business since 1988, with the exception of a 4-year period when he worked in the U.S.A. During his time in the family business, he initially worked part-time while completing his final 2 years of school and 4 years of university. He then became a full-time employee in 1998 after returning from the U.S. In 2003, Alastair took over as the Managing Director of the company, succeeding his father, Jim Raitt. In 2023, he assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer and, as of September 2025 is now a Consultant to HM Raitt. Under Alastair's leadership, the company has experienced consistent growth year after year, even during the recession. Additionally, the company has expanded the range of work it undertakes and has increased the in-house scope of its workforce. Apart from his day-to-day responsibilities within the company, Alastair actively seeks out business growth opportunities for HMR group. This includes exploring options such as design and build (D&B) projects, joint ventures (JV), and expanding the company's property portfolio.
