Allan Corfield is the Self Build Mentor — the voice self-builders turn to before the expensive decisions get made.
An award-winning RIBA Chartered Architect, Allan has overseen the design of over 650 low-energy homes across the UK. He founded AC Architects in 2009 and grew it to a team of 20 near Edinburgh and Swindon. Fifteen years and several hundred homes taught him that most self-builds are won or lost in the first few months, long before a spade goes into the ground. Self Build Mentor is his response to that — no drawings to sell, no design fee at the end of it, just independent one-to-one guidance on the risks, costs and decisions in front of you right now.
