David Hill (Sun only)
David Hill formed the architectural practice KHOLM in 2019 and has over 25 years’ experience
working throughout the UK.
In 2001 he joined practice Loyn & Co Architects in Cardiff where he was an integral part of
the company’s success for more than 12 years leading prestigious projects that have been
recognised by numerous awards and accolades, and have been seen in many publications
around the world. These accolades include seven RIBA awards or nominations, a Grand
Designs award in 2007, three Gold Medals for Architecture in Wales (Best Building in Wales),
RIBA Manser Medal ‘House of the Year’ winner 2014 and RIBA ‘House of The Year’ final
shortlist 2016. Also he was Project Lead on a private house that made the final shortlist for
the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize in 2016. The same project also made the Dezeen world’s
top ten best buildings list in 2016.
After relocating to Scotland he worked with large practices in Glasgow and Edinburgh on
projects in the UK and across the world. Following this he returned to his roots at a small
practice in Edinburgh and as Design Director his design work received more accolades for
several multiple-housing developments and one-off private houses in the region, gaining two
Scottish Property Awards, two Civic trust Awards, a Glasgow Institute of Architects Award
and the Scottish Home Awards ‘Innovation In Design’ award 2018.
Recently celebrating KHOLM’s 7th anniversary in 2026 the practice has worked on over 100
high-end residential and multiple housing development projects in Scotland & around the UK.
